Brewster Ranch: Our Story and Vision for the Future
Welcome to Brewster Ranch! With Tom and Sherry stepping into retirement, we—Mark and Kate—have recently taken the reins and are honored to carry the torch. We wanted to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves, share a bit of our story, and tell you about our vision for the ranch moving forward.
Our Story: A Dream Come True
Brewster Ranch has always been in Mark's blood. Born and raised right here, he’s worked on the ranch for nearly all of his adult life. From an early age, Mark was captivated by the land, the animals, and the cowboy way of life. He’s built his skills over the years as a horseman, roping, building saddles, and day working on ranches throughout the Big Horn Basin. With over 20 years of experience at the salebarn, he knows the livestock industry inside and out, bringing invaluable knowledge to our operation.
Kate, on the other hand, grew up dreaming of the cowboy lifestyle, knowing from a young age that this was her calling. In 2019, she moved to Brewster Ranch, and it felt like the perfect fit. She’s worked on ranches all over the West—from Colorado to California, Oklahoma to Texas—building her skills and passion for the ranching life. With extensive business and marketing experience, Kate has been leading the marketing efforts for the Big Horn Basin Livestock Auction for a few years now, and she’s just as invested in building the legacy of Brewster Ranch as Mark is.
Together, we’re combining our love for the land, our hands-on experience, and our professional backgrounds to build a ranch where stewardship, hard work, and Christian values guide everything we do. It’s not just about running a ranch—it’s about honoring the traditions we hold dear and creating something lasting for future generations.
Our Vision: The Heart of Brewster Ranch
At Brewster Ranch, we are deeply committed to the responsibility that comes with caring for the land and animals that have been entrusted to us. Our vision is shaped by Christian values and stewardship, where every decision is made with a sense of gratitude and care for the future. We want our work to reflect the values we hold dear: integrity, humility, and a sense of community.
We don’t take the responsibility of running this ranch lightly. We want Brewster Ranch to be known for its hard work, its commitment to quality, and the positive impact we hope to have on the people and community around us. We believe in building strong relationships and making choices that support both the ranch and the people who help it thrive.
What’s Ahead for Brewster Ranch
Looking ahead, we’re focused on keeping Brewster Ranch sustainable and strong for years to come, while staying true to the values that have always been at the heart of this place. Our goal is to grow in ways that feel authentic to who we are, whether that means expanding our livestock operation, connecting with our community, or improving the land that supports us.
There is much to do, and we are grateful for the chance to be part of this journey. We don’t have all the answers, but we are committed to learning, growing, and doing the best we can every day. We want to honor the history of Brewster Ranch while building a future that reflects our faith, our values, and our dedication to the land.
